A Compton man is facing attempted homicide charges after Seal Beach police responded to a shooting Sunday evening and, with help from four neighboring agencies, tracked him down before he got far.

Officers were called to the 2900 block of Seal Beach Boulevard at approximately 7:03 p.m. on May 10. Multiple witnesses reported the suspect fled westbound immediately after the shooting. The victim was not hit.

Seal Beach PD coordinated with the West Cities Communications Dispatch Center, Cypress PD, Los Alamitos PD, Anaheim PD Air Support, and Irvine PD PSD units to establish a perimeter and locate the suspect. Officers recovered two handguns from the area.

The suspect, Jessy Quintero, 40, of Compton, was arrested and booked on attempted homicide-related charges.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information or footage from the area should contact Detective Kendra Owen at (562) 799-4100 ext. 1108 or kowen@sealbeachca.gov.
