A 28-year-old Cerritos man died Sunday afternoon after his motorcycle was struck by a Toyota Camry at Pacific Coast Highway and 24th Street in Sunset Beach.
Officers from the Huntington Beach Police Department arrived around 3:56 p.m. on March 29 and found the rider of a blue BMW motorcycle unconscious in the roadway. Paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the white Toyota Camry, a 19-year-old woman from Long Beach, was not hurt. She cooperated with investigators, and police say impairment does not appear to have played a role for her. Whether the motorcyclist was impaired has not been determined.
According to HBPD, the Camry was pulling out of a parking lot and turning south onto PCH when it struck the motorcycle, which was traveling north on PCH at the time.
The investigation is being handled by the HBPD Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team. Anyone who witnessed the crash or the events leading up to it is asked to contact Traffic Investigator C. Houlston at (714) 536-5670.
