Cypress Police nightshift officers were patrolling the area of Lincoln Avenue and Moody Street when they located a vehicle reported stolen during an armed carjacking in a nearby city. What followed was a multi-agency pursuit that ended with a juvenile suspect in handcuffs and a loaded gun off the street.
Officers tracked the vehicle until Anaheim Police Department's helicopter — call sign "Angel" — arrived to provide aerial support. With air cover established, a vehicle pursuit got underway.
The suspect eventually drove into a dead-end street and tried to run on foot. He didn't get far.
A 14-year-old male from Los Angeles was taken into custody at the scene. Officers recovered a handgun from the vehicle's center console. The suspect was later transported to Orange County Juvenile Hall.
The stolen vehicle was returned to its owner.
The Cypress Police Department shared the incident on social media, crediting the department's nightshift officers and Anaheim PD for the coordinated response. No injuries were reported.
